How To Upgrade A Garmin Nuvi 200

New locations and routes emerge on a regular basis. The Garmin Nuvi 200 navigation device can show you local establishments near you, such as restaurants, gas stations, and hotels. If you use the Garmin Nuvi 200 Global Positioning Receiver System and your Garmin Nuvi 200 maps are out of date, you will not have the latest information. For example, if a new road was added or an old one was closed, not knowing it could cause significant delays in your trips. Also, new businesses will not be identified on your old maps. Garmin offers free software updates that let you update your Nuvi 200's maps from your computer.

Step 1 – On your computer, launch a web browser followed by visiting the "Garmin WebUpdater" website.

Step 2 – Click the "Download the latest version of the WebUpdater program" link from the Garmin website. Follow the installation instructions to complete the download of the programs.

Step 3 – Connect one end of the USB cable to your Garmin Nuvi 200 and the other end to the USB cable of your computer. The WebUpdater program will automatically search for any necessary updates for your GPS.

Step 4 – Click "Yes" if WebUpdater alerts you that an update is available for your Nuvi 200 and if you want to install it. The program will install it and tell you when it is safe to disconnect your GPS device from the computer. You will be notified if no updates are available.
